Windsor Family Credit Union Receives Award
for Partnership with the Windsor Spitfire Hockey Team

WINDSOR , ON - Credit Union Central of Ontario (CUCO) recently awarded Windsor Family Credit Union (WFCU) with the 2008 Innovation Award for Marketing, Service or Delivery Channel. The Innovation Awards provide an opportunity to recognize innovation and excellence among Ontario credit unions and highlight the growth and advantages of credit unions.

WFCU was recognized for its partnership with the Windsor Spitfires Hockey Team. This partnership includes the designation as the ?Official Financial Institution of the Windsor Spitfires' along with the Spitfires Kids Club which includes a youth savings account at WFCU. The partnership has also allowed the Spitfires and WFCU to host events and programs such as organized road hockey ?Like Ice, Only Better', the Community Ticket Program and the Spitfire Education Booster Program.

"As a visible organization in our community, we (WFCU) are proud to serve as a role model for other local organizations in emphasizing the necessity in developing the social skills and physical well-being of our local youth," said Martin J. Komsa, President and CEO of WFCU. "To be recognized with our fifth Innovation Award for this specific worthwhile initiative is an honour."

The 2008 Innovation Award for Marketing was presented to WFCU at the recent CUCO Annual General Meeting held in Toronto.
