$5,000 in Scholarship Funds Available - Deadline Monday, May 12th, 2008

To All Windsor and Essex County Schools - Open to all local youth JK to Grade 12

We would like to make you aware of a scholarship opportunity offered through Windsor Family Credit Union (WFCU).

Since 2001, WFCU has provided $22,000 in scholarship funds through the Harold Hewitt Scholarship program. Through this program we will be giving away $5,000 in scholarship funds this year. All local youth are invited to answer the following question in no more than 100 words, submitted to WFCU:

To celebrate Education Week which runs from April 28th to May 2nd 2008, we felt this would again be the perfect opportunity to invite all local schools to participate in WFCU's Harold Hewitt Scholarship (HHS) program.

The deadline for applications is Monday, May 12th at 5:00 p.m.

Once all submissions have been received, they will be reviewed and the selected recipients from each age category will be notified. Recipients and their families, teachers and principals are invited to a special presentation at WFCU's Corporate & Administration Office at 3000 Marentette Avenue on Monday, May 26th from 4 ? 5 pm.

HOW TO APPLY

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 7th presentation of WFCU's Harold Hewitt Scholarship (HHS). Through this year's scholarship opportunity, $5,000 will be presented to local youth. In an effort to protect our environment and reduce paper waste, the information is now provided on-line for your use. Below, please review the information items needed to participate in this year's Harold Hewitt Scholarship program:

  1. 2008 Harold Hewitt Scholarship Flyer. Teachers and Principals may wish to print and post around school in order to help make students aware of thisscholarship opportunity.
  2. 2008 Harold Hewitt Scholarship Submission Form. Here you will find the 2008 submission question, which is the application for consideration.
  3. DEADLINE: Submissions are to be received no later than Monday, May 12th by 5:00 p.m. by email sent to, communityinvestment@windsorfamily.com or can be dropped off to any retail location or the Corporate Head Office. Addresses are as follows:

A short history of the credit union system and a biography of Mr. Harold Hewitt are also included to inform those who do not know what a credit union is and to express why this scholarship is so important.
